Domino is an exciting combination of chance, strategy and luck that can be played by two to eight people at the same time. Not only is it great fun for social gatherings or educational purposes; Domino has long been popular.
A domino is a small oblong piece of material with one to six pips on either end that can be placed edge to edge or in a line to form a domino set. Each domino’s value depends on its position in this set; when compared against those of other dominoes it determines which player holds the highest domino, and they win that round or game of dominoes.
The game of double-six dominoes can involve numerous rules and variations. Usually, all 28 tiles in a set are shuffled together into a “stock”, commonly referred to as a boneyard, before each player draws seven dominoes from this pool and places them on their side of the table so that they can see only their own dominoes without those belonging to opponents. When all players stop playing (called an out! or I win signal from one), all points from their dominoes go to one player while all remaining dominoes return into stock (and so on…).
Keep this in mind: every product, team and individual goes through an evolution that includes birth, growth and decline. Successful companies recognize this and actively manage this process by listening to customers, employees and competitors as they create an environment conducive to change, innovation and creativity.
Domino’s first opened for business in Ypsilanti, Michigan during the mid-1960s when Dominic Monaghan opened its inaugural pizzeria. Part of its initial success stemmed from Monaghan strategically situating his stores near colleges; this allowed them to attract students looking for quick meals quickly as well as capitalize on a trend for trying out new pizza recipes and toppings.
Domino’s successful strategy entails emphasizing customer service and listening to feedback, including creating communication channels to allow employees to express their ideas freely. Furthermore, the business prioritizes creating a positive work environment – this has helped it grow and flourish over the years.
