Since 1973, when it was established, the Lauriston Sharp Prize has been presented annually to an SEAP graduate student whose dissertation research and community involvement demonstrate outstanding contributions to Southeast Asian studies. This award honors Lauriston Sharp (1907-1993), Goldwin Smith Professor of Anthropology and founder of SEAP.
This year’s finalists have been chosen from more than 120 entries and selected via a reading committee and public vote which will take place this fall. The winner of the SGP Prize will be revealed early 2022 and awarded with a monetary award of $100,000.
